Role Overview
As a Behavior Technician (BT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you will provide 1:1 in-home ABA therapy to children with autism in the Emerald Isle, Swansboro, Cape Carteret, Cedar Point, Newport, and Morehead City areas. This position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities with flexible schedules (including afternoon, daytime, and weekend options). Multiple openings are available with the ability to start ASAP.
Duties & Responsibilities
Direct Client Support
- Provide 1:1 ABA therapy in the client’s home.
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans developed by the supervising BCBA.
- Teach essential communication, social, daily living, and play skills to children with autism.
- Utilize reinforcement strategies to encourage desired behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Work directly with children to support their skill development and progress.
Session Preparation & Documentation
- Track and document client progress and skill acquisition during sessions.
- Maintain accurate, real-time data collection.
Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate effectively with the supervising BCBA and families regarding client progress.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure consistent and high-quality care.
- Participate in paid training and ongoing supervision sessions.
Professional Conduct
- Adhere to the ethical guidelines set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Maintain strict client confidentiality (HIPAA) and professional boundaries at all times.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Certification: RBT certification preferred or willingness to obtain (we provide paid training and support).
- Experience: Previous experience with children is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Genuine interest in ABA therapy, compassion, and a desire to make a positive impact on children’s lives.
- Requirements: Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally in the Greater Emerald Isle, NC area (Emerald Isle, Swansboro, Cape Carteret, Cedar Point, Newport, Morehead City), ability to pass background check.
