Role Overview
As a Behavior Technician / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you will provide 1:1 ABA therapy to children in-home, in-school, or in-clinic settings. You will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement individualized treatment plans. This position offers flexible part-time and full-time schedules based on your availability, with opportunities for professional growth in a supportive team environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Direct Client Support
- Provide 1:1 ABA therapy to clients in home, school, or clinic settings.
- Implement individualized treatment plans designed by the supervising BCBA.
- Teach essential communication, social, daily living, and play skills using ABA principles.
- Utilize reinforcement strategies to encourage desired behaviors and address challenging behaviors.
- Collect accurate, real-time data on client progress during every session.
Session Preparation & Documentation
- Document data on client progress and maintain detailed session notes.
- Ensure accurate records that meet company and insurance standards.
Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with families and team members to support client success and ensure consistent care.
- Communicate effectively with the BCBA and clinical team regarding client progress.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
Professional Conduct
- Adhere to the ethical guidelines set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Maintain strict client confidentiality (HIPAA) and professional boundaries at all times.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (required); some college preferred.
- Certification: Must have or be willing to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in ABA therapy or working with children is a plus but not required.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, and a passion for making a difference in children’s lives.
- Requirements: Ability to pass a background check, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally to client locations (Hays, Kansas area).
